SCAN. MOVE. RECEIVE.

Scanning & Movement to Receive

2 Hours | Included in All Tiers

Great players don’t just react quicker. They see the game earlier.

Day 1 introduces players to the details behind one of Training121’s most recognised areas of coaching: scanning, movement, and receiving under pressure.

The session begins with high-quality ball mastery and technical work before progressing into the habits players need to consistently find space, create separation, and receive with more information.

WHAT PLAYERS WILL WORK ON

Ball Mastery & Technical Foundation

High-repetition technical work designed to sharpen touches, coordination, ball manipulation, and comfort in possession.

The Critical Scan

Understanding the most important scan before receiving the ball — and what information players should actually be looking for.

Scan Balance

Learning how to scan effectively while maintaining control, awareness, and quality in the next action.

Scan Rate

Developing the habit of checking surroundings more consistently as the picture around the player changes.

Movement to Receive

Learning how intelligent movement can create the time and space needed to receive effectively.

Creating Separation

Using double movements, changes of direction, and defender manipulation to create space before the ball arrives.

THE OUTCOME

Players leave Day 1 with a better understanding of how to see earlier, move smarter, and receive with more information — giving them more time to execute their next action.

ESCAPE PRESSURE. WIN YOUR 1V1.

1v1 Play & Escaping Pressure

2 Hours | Included in All Tiers

Day 2 is about becoming more comfortable when the space disappears.

Rather than simply teaching players a collection of skill moves, we’ll help them understand how to recognise pressure, manipulate defenders, and choose the right solution.

The session again begins with ball mastery and technical preparation before progressing into increasingly game-realistic 1v1 situations.

WHAT PLAYERS WILL WORK ON

Ball Mastery & Skill Moves

Developing the close control, changes of direction, and individual techniques needed to manipulate the ball confidently at speed.

Reading Pressure

Recognising where pressure is coming from and understanding when to protect, escape, turn, or attack.

Escape Play

Using body positioning, changes of direction, and technical solutions to escape pressure and retain possession.

1v1 — Defender in Front

Learning how to commit defenders, create imbalance, and attack the space they leave behind.

1v1 — Pressure From Behind

Protecting the ball, recognising the defender’s position, and using different techniques to turn or escape.

Applying It Under Pressure

Bringing the techniques together in competitive situations where players must read the picture and select their own solution.

THE OUTCOME

Players leave Day 2 with more than new skill moves. They’ll have a clearer understanding of when, where, and why to use them — and greater confidence dealing with pressure in games.
