Coach Megan

Megan “Coach Megan” Hagan brings a lifelong love for the game and a ton of playing experience to Soccer Genome. A North Carolina native, Megan grew up playing with CASL before spending time with Sporting Blue Valley in Kansas City and eventually returning home to play at the NCFC Elite and ECNL levels. At Cary Christian School, she was a two-time state champion while also earning All-State, All-Conference, and Conference Player of the Year honors.

Megan went on to play at Liberty University from 2022–2025, where she was part of a conference championship and two regular-season championship teams. She also spent her summers competing with Trinity WPSL and NCFC WPSL before beginning to experience the game from the other side of the sideline as a manager at Liberty and volunteer assistant coach with NCFC Grey WPSL.

At SG, Coach Megan is someone who enjoys being around the players and people that make the game special. Along with coaching, she leads the SG Volunteer Program, helping younger coaches find their footing, gain experience, and feel at home in the SG environment. She brings an easygoing, encouraging energy to the field and wants every player she works with to feel comfortable being themselves, excited to learn, and confident enough to try, fail, and keep growing.
